Two Oregon-Davis students had the chance to present their solution to a real-world problem at this year’s Future City Competition. Annabelle Fosburgh and Ryan Minter were among the teams of middle school students from around the state who traveled to Fort Wayne on Saturday to compete in the event.
As part of this year’s theme, “Waste Not, Want Not,” the teams had to research, design, and develop model cities with innovative waste management systems.
This was the first time O-D’s had a team in the competition. While they didn’t win, Jr./Sr. High School Principal Tim Pletcher says the school still got off to a good start, being recognized with an Excellent Pilot School Award.
