Admission proceeds from tonight’s Bluegrass Jam at the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center in Knox will benefit all of Starke County. The “cost” to get in is a nonperishable food donation for the Community Services of Starke County Food Pantry. The program starts at 6 p.m.
One of Mayor Dennis Estok’s goals when taking office was greater utilization of the building. An evening of ballroom dancing will be offered there on Saturday, May 14 from 7 until 9 p.m. The 14-piece orchestra Sentimental Journeys will perform music from the big band era from artists like Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington and Artie Shaw at the spring dance.
