It took 10 months, but the Starke County Sheriff’s Department believes they have the right man following a Burglary reported in July of 2015.
According to a press release from the Starke County Sheriff’s Department, several items were taken from a building at the corner of 1000 E. and 250 S.
The victim stated that the suspect also “hotwired” a truck, and removed it from inside the location. The Sheriff’s Department says once the truck was outside, the suspect got the vehicle stuck in the mud, unable to drive it further.
Investigators were able to obtain fingerprints from the scene and submitted them to the Indiana State Police Lab for testing. A positive identity was obtained through the analysis.
25-year-old Shawn Gentry of Knox was taken into custody, being held on a $25-thousand Surety Bond. He’s facing preliminary charges of Burglary, Auto Theft, Criminal Mischief, and Theft.
