Police Investigate Interrupted Burglary at Home of LaPorte County Coroner

 
 

Police are investigating after a resident of a LaPorte County home reported waking up to find an intruder in the house, Friday. According to the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched shorty after noon to investigate an attempted burglary at a home in the 7000 block of West U.S. 30, near Wanatah.

The resident reported being awakened by a loud noise, and finding the intruder. Upon being seen, the suspect reportedly fled the home and headed westbound on U.S. 30 in a green Ford Ranger or a similar type of vehicle. He’s described as a white male about 60 years of age with gray hair.

The home where the break-in allegedly occurred is owned by LaPorte County Coroner John Sullivan, along with Julie Sullivan. However, the coroner was not home at the time of the incident.
