The CEO of LaPorte Hospital has resigned. G. Thor Thordarson was also serving as interim CEO of Starke Hospital, following the recent departure of Craig Felty. Hospital officials say the search for a permanent CEO will begin immediately with input from members of the board of trustees, medical staff and administration.
Meanwhile, Gigi Fergus will serve as interim CEO until the search for a permanent CEO is complete. She has been serving as a Project Executive at the hospital for the past several months. Fergus began her career as a registered nurse and subsequently moved into hospital leadership and consulting roles over the ensuing 25 years.
