The annual WoodStarke music festival will be coming to Wythogan Park this Saturday and it looks to be fun for the whole family.
The third WoodStarke event will take place between Noon and 6:00 p.m. and will feature more than 10 musical acts. It will include local artists and span genres from country to folk and rock music. This year’s list includes bands such as “Seldom Told,” “South of Sorrow,” and “Minus Dan.”
Planning the event has been in the works since May of this year. Organizing efforts were paused following the death of one of the group’s lead organizers MJ Bendt who passed away earlier this year after a battle with cancer.
In the past, WoodStarke organizers have typically limited the performances to Starke County artists, but have expanded the offerings this year.
Jacob Lippner is heavily involved with the organization. He says the event is free with food provided through local businesses for those attending the event. Lippner says WoodStarke is a good opportunity to see what Starke County has to offer in the way of local artists and musical talent.
