West Central Elementary School students will benefit from a recent fundraiser sponsored by the school’s Parent-Teacher Council. West Central Superintendent Don Street says the PTC’s “No Hassle Fundraiser” raised almost $4,000.
Instead of a typical fundraiser, which often involves selling items, the PTC simply asked families for donations. Organizers said the effort was a way to keep 100 percent of the profits while simplifying the fundraising process.
While the “No Hassle Fundraiser” fell short of its $7,000 goal, it is expected to cut back on the need for traditional fundraisers this school year. The PTC typically provides funds to help cover the cost field trips, educational opportunities, and playground equipment, among other uses.
