The Winamac Park Board is expected to receive an update on the establishment of a Rainy Day Fund when it meets this evening. The measure would pave the way for potential grant opportunities for the town’s park and recreation facilities. Many grants require at least some local matching funds. The park department’s Rainy Day Fund would serve as a source for that money. Winamac Town Attorney Justin Schramm has been working on a resolution to establish the fund.
Tonight’s Winamac Park Board meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. at the Winamac Municipal Utility Complex. It will be the board’s first meeting since the Pulaski County Public Library Board appointed Sandy Lucas as the fifth park board member last week. However, the exact start and end dates for Lucas’s term still remain to be seen.
