The Knox Police Department has an opening for a full-time patrol officer. Police Chief Harold Smith told the Board of Works last week Cpl. Clint Norem resigned earlier this month to take over as Hamlet Town Marshal.

Smith recommended K-9 Officer Chad Dulin, who has been with the city police department for 11 years, be promoted to corporal. The board of works voted unanimously to do so. No time frame was offered for filling the full-time position.
