The Starke County Highway Department is ready for winter weather. Superintendent Rik Ritzler told the county commissioners Monday all material, personnel and planning requirements are in place. He adds crews are taking advantage of the mild weather by stockpiling materials needed for next year’s road improvements.
This year’s list has been completed. It includes more than 50 miles of various improvements, including chip sealing, cold mix asphalt, gravel road improvements and wedging throughout the county.
