A jury in Starke Circuit Court this week found a defendant guilty on all three counts following a brief trial before Judge Kim Hall.
Benjamin Wheeler was charged with two Level 6 felony counts of battery and one of disorderly conduct as a B misdemeanor. They all stemmed from a Jan. 3 incident in Knox. Court documents indicate Wheeler spit on an officer and tried tripping a jailer at the Starke County Sheriff’s Office.
His trial took place Wednesday, Dec. 14. Wheeler is due to be sentenced on Jan. 25th.
