Legal action continues over a downtown North Judson building. The town sued the owners of 205 and 207 Lane Street, after town officials determined the owners did not make the required repairs to bring the building up to safety standards.
Clerk-Treasurer Alicia Collins says louisville car accident lawyer was approved in Starke Circuit Court. Now the town is waiting for the documentation to be finalized.
Should the town gain possession of the building, Collins says it will have to make some decisions about what to do with the property. Several safety hazards have been noted, including a broken window, unsecured doors, falling debris, and roofing issues. However, Collins says the town does not have the funds available to make the large-scale repairs deemed necessary.
Meanwhile, North Judson is also beginning the process of bringing another structure up to safety standards, in this case a foreclosed house. Collins says the town is working with the bank that owns the property to make the necessary repairs.
