Starke and Pulaski Counties Report Over 50-percent Voter Turnout

 
 

More than half of registered voters in Starke and Pulaski Counties cast ballots in last month’s General Election, according to figures released by the Indiana Secretary of State’s Office.

In Starke County, 52-percent voted, with 26-percent doing so by absentee ballots. By the numbers, Starke County has 18,112 registered voters and 9,487 cast ballots.

Pulaski County has fewer registered voters, at 9,609, however a higher percentage of those registered cast ballots in the 2016 General Election. The official count indicates 58 percent, or 5,599 people voted. In Pulaski County, 38-percent of ballots were cast absentee.

That’s on par with the state average of 58-percent participation and 38-percent via absentee ballot. voters cast ballots, with 38 percent taking advantage of the absentee option.
