KVREMC Operation Round Up Scholarship Applications Now Available

Scholarships are available to high school seniors whose parents are Kankakee Valley REMC members and participate in the electrical cooperative’s Operation Round Up program.

It rounds monthly bills up to the nearest dollar. Money from the Operation Round Up Trust is then given back to the community in the form of scholarships and grants to local nonprofit organizations.

This year two $1,000 and four $500 scholarships are available to students planning to further their education at a college, university or trade school in 2017. Students whose parents have been participating in Operation Round Up as of Feb. 2, 2017 are eligible to apply.

Scholarship recipients will be judged on academics, letters of recommendation, community and school involvement, and an essay relating to the Operation Round Up organization.

Additional guidelines are outlined in the application. Applications must be submitted to Kankakee Valley REMC by March 2 at 3 p.m. CST to be considered.
