The Culver Town Council will conduct a public hearing tonight to discuss a tax abatement request made by Elkay Wood Products.
This is the next step in the process of a project planned by the owner of the company to invest millions of dollars in expanding the technology at the plant. More jobs will be created as a result of the upgrades.
The Culver Town Council previously declared the area as an economic revitalization area to move forward to the tax abatement phase. Residents are welcome to weigh opinions on the project.
Employees at the facility create a variety of wood products, including cabinets, doors, furniture accessories and hardware.
In addition to the public hearing, the town council will review an ordinance on the personnel policy manual and discuss the plan to move forward with the Stellar Communities Program application and letter of intent.
The Culver Town Council will meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. ET in the Culver Town Hall.
