Kingsford Heights Man Arrested for Trespassing on a School Bus

A Kingsford Heights man faces a felony trespassing charge in LaPorte County after reportedly boarding a school bus with drug paraphernalia.

Authorities were summoned to the area of Meadowbrook Boulevard and U.S. 6 at the entrance to the town of Kingsford Heights around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.

A Kingsford Heights deputy marshal was the first to arrive. He removed 25-year-old William A. Grosswiler of Kingsford Heights from the bus. Officers from the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department, including School Resource Officer Deputy Marvin McCoy and an Indiana Conservation Officer also responded.

The incident report indicates Grosswiler was carrying a backpack which contained two bongs, which are commonly used to smoke marijuana. No narcotics were found, and no drugs were believed to have been exchanged, although the investigation is ongoing.

Grosswiler is charged with trespass as a Level 6 felony, due to the bus being school property. All LaPorte Community School buses are clearly marked with a trespass warning at the door. He’s also charged with possession of paraphernalia.

Sheriff’s deputies are coordinating their investigation with school authorities who will determine how Grosswiler got on the bus.
