The City of Knox is celebrating Memorial Day by officially renaming a road in honor of service members. Mayor Dennis Estok says members of the VFW and American Legion will take part in Monday’s dedication ceremony for Veterans Parkway.
That’s the new name for 150 South, which runs from U.S. 35 at Sandy Acres Park past the Knox bus barn to Roosevelt Road. Last summer the city completed the road so both ends would meet and decided to rename it.
At the time a ribbon cutting ceremony took place, but Estok says the road will officially be dedicated to veterans on Memorial Day during a 12:30 p.m. ceremony at the intersection of Veterans Parkway and Main Street. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
