Rezoning Required for Proposed Assisted Living Facility

The Winamac Plan Commission will soon consider a zoning request to accommodate a new assisted living facility.

Pulaski Health Foundation President and Chairman Scott Fritz presented plans to the Winamac Town Council Monday for a new complex on U.S. 35 north of Ewing Drive. He says Phyllis and Kenneth Gardner have donated six acres of land for the project. It is currently zoned for business use and would need to be rezoned to commercial.

No date for that hearing has been announced.

The Pulaski Health Foundation is the nonprofit organization that manages both the Pulaski Health Care Center in Winamac and Parkview Haven Retirement Community in Francesville. Details about the proposed facility were not immediately available.
