Main Street organization has taken its first steps in upgrading the downtown area. Wander Our Winamac has purchased 14 new 36-inch planters. They were installed last week, thanks to the help of the Iris-Elm Garden Club and volunteers from Key Bank of Winamac.

The project was Wander Our Winamac’s first undertaking since officially being accepted into the Indiana Main Street program. The program helps communities develop and revitalize their downtowns. It encourages cooperation between various local groups, and also makes communities eligible for grants.

Wander Our Winamac currently has 15 members. For its next project, they plan to purchase seasonal banners for the town’s light poles.
