Funeral Services Scheduled for Teenage Crash Victims

Ashley DeMont
Kirsten Ganshorn

Funeral arrangements are set for the two teenagers killed Monday in a multiple-vehicle crash on U.S. 30 in Kosciusko County.

Investigators there say a 2004 Mitsubishi driven by 17-year-old Kirsten Ganshorn of Walkerton was passing a 2011 Ford F150 and clipped it. The impact sent both vehicles into the median. The pickup truck driver steered back onto the roadway, but Ganshorn’s car spun out, crossed the median backwards and hit the front of a 2007 Chevrolet flatbed truck.

Ganshorn was thrown from the car on impact and was pronounced dead at the crash site from multiple blunt-force trauma injuries.

Her front seat passenger, 17-year-old Ashley Demont of Argos, was airlifted to a Fort Wayne Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Her funeral will take place Saturday, June 24 at 10 a.m. EDT at Trinity Untied Methodist Church in Plymouth, with visitation there Friday, June 23 from 4 until 8 p.m. EDT. Memorials may be given to the Kirsten Ganshorn Family.

Meanwhile, a celebration of life service for Ganshorn will take place Saturday, June 24 from 1 to 6 p.m. CDT at the Koontz Lake Association Clubhouse. Memorials may be given to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Chicago.
