Moving Starke County Forward Begins National Park-Themed Summer Challenge

Moving Starke County Forward’s fifth annual Get Moving Challenge is now underway. Starke County Walks to the National Parks in America began on Memorial Day and continues through Labor Day. Community members are encouraged to walk, run, bike, or take part in any physical activity of their choice. Participants can then log their miles for a chance to win prizes.

To help residents get moving, a community walk is scheduled for Thursday, June 15 at 5:00 p.m. Walkers will meet at Wythogan Park pavilion number one, next to the splash pad.

Moving Starke County Forward was formed in 2012 to improve the health of local residents. The county has consistently ranked near the bottom in state health rankings, but coalition members note that some improvement has been seen over the past five years.
