Three Hurt in Single-Vehicle Rollover Crash in Marshall County

Three people were taken to hospitals after a rollover crash on State Road 17 Wednesday. Marshall County Police say it happened around 5:15 p.m. north of 20 A Road. A 2006 Monte Carlo driven by Justin Orangias, 30, of Culver was heading northbound, when Orangias apparently tried to pass another vehicle.

Police say the Monte Carlo ran off the west side of State Road 17, veered back across the roadway, then off the east side of State Road 17. It then reportedly went down an embankment, rolling several times.

A passenger, Heather Wynn, 25, of Culver was ejected from the car, according to police. Wynn and another passenger, Wanda Lynn Gilbert, 40, of Andrews, were taken by helicopter to Memorial Hospital. Orangias was treated at the scene, before being taken to Saint Joseph Medical Center in Plymouth.

Police are still investigating, but so far, they don’t think illegal drugs or alcohol were a factor. Lutheran Air, Lutheran EMS, Culver EMS, the Culver Fire Department and the Culver Police Department all assisted Marshall County Police.
