Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb approved the appointment of a judge to fill the vacancy in Pulaski Superior Court.
The vacancy was made by former Judge Patrick Blankenship who entered retirement on Apr. 3.
Crystal A. Brucker Kocher was selected by the governor for her extensive experience in both civil and criminal law. She recently held the position of chief deputy prosecutor in Pulaski County. She served as the juvenile magistrate as well as a public defender in the Tippecanoe County Court system.
She attended Marion College and Purdue University for her undergraduate degree and received her law degree from Indiana University McKinney School of Law. She is active in the Pulaski County community and is a member of the Pulaski County Bar Association, Indiana Bar Association and American Bar Association.
Kocher will be sworn into office on a date yet to be determined.
