Portions of highways in La Porte County will hinder work commutes when the partial work week winds up on Wednesday, July 5.
The south junction intersection at U.S. 6 and U.S. 421 in Westville will be closed beginning Wednesday through the middle of August. Crews with the Indiana Department of Transportation will be rehabilitating the intersection with new concrete. No traffic will be allowed through the intersection and northbound motorists will be detoured utilizing U.S. 421, U.S. 30, State Road 39 and back to State Road 2. Southbound travelers will reverse the route.
INDOT crews will also be working on State Road 4 between County Roads 300 East and 350 East in La Porte County for a culvert replacement. The closure will be from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. CT, however the schedule may be amended if there are weather delays. The recommended detour takes westbound traffic to State Road 104, U.S. 6, U.S. 35, State Road 2, and State Road 4. Eastbound traffic will take the reverse route.
