CAFO Rezoning Request to be Considered by Pulaski County Commissioners Tonight

The Pulaski County Commissioners are expected to make a decision on a confined animal feeding operation tonight. Back in May, the Pulaski County Advisory Plan Commission recommended that the property at 300 South and 700 West be rezoned from General Agriculture to Intensive Agriculture. That would allow for the construction of four wean-to-finish pig production buildings.

The commissioners have held off on making a decision until now, saying they wanted all three members to be present. However, Commissioner Bud Krohn Jr. resigned last week due to health issues, after an absence of nearly six months.

Also during tonight’s meeting, the commissioners will open demolition bids for a dilapidated Medaryville home. Pulaski County has gotten a $25,000 blight elimination grant from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority.

A request to pave a section of County Road 700 South will also be revisited tonight, along with the county’s copier lease with Copiers Plus. Tonight’s Pulaski County Commissioners meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. EDT at the Pulaski County Courthouse.
