Knox School Teachers, Students to Test eLearning System

Knox Community School teachers and students will not be in the classroom on Friday. Sept. 1st in order to test the school’s new eLearning system. Teachers will post classroom assignments to the learning management system Canvas by 9 a.m. that morning.

During back-to-school nights at the start of the school year, parents and students were all instructed on what is expected during an eLearning Day. Director of Curriculum and Instruction Peggy Shidaker said she is confident that students will be able to properly utilize the learning management system and she feels parents will be capable of helping younger students find what they need to do for the day.

Don’t let your child convince you this is a regular Friday occurrence. Students will return to class regularly after the Labor Day weekend. The eLearning system will only be utilized in the case of cancellations due to inclement weather. If you have any questions contact your student’s teacher or call the school’s main office. The school wants to know how the test of the system goes so feel free to provide feedback.
