Oregon-Davis Administrators Review ISTEP Scores with School Board

The Oregon-Davis School Corporation is reviewing its preliminary ISTEP results. “We are pleased about some of the preliminary results we’ve gotten, but we also know that there are areas that we need to improve,” says Superintendent Dr. Don Harman.

He says improving ISTEP scores means keeping up with changing standards and adjusting school curriculum accordingly. “When you look at those ISTEP scores, obviously, you’re looking at Math and English. We know that, again, it starts with having a sound and rigorous curriculum. And that is something that I’ve stressed since I’ve been here, and we will continue to make that one of our focal points.”

He and Elementary School Principal William Bennett discussed the preliminary results with school board members Monday. Harman says they’ll continue to analyze the data, and share more details during upcoming meetings.
