Two Arrested on Narcotics Charges

Two Knox residents were arrested on Friday evening after allegedly possessing heroin and drug paraphernalia.

Officers from the Knox City Police Department conducted a traffic stop on John Street just east of Main Street. The officer reportedly recognized the driver of the vehicle and found that he was driving while suspended.

K9 O’Neill was deployed to conduct a search and reportedly alerted to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. Police say heroin, syringes, and drug paraphernalia were found after conducting a search of the vehicle and its surroundings.

The driver, Brian Woodard, 23, and Bradley Austin, 27, were arrested on preliminary felony charges of possession of heroin and unlawful possession of a syringe, plus a misdemeanor charge of possession of paraphernalia.
