The West Central School Board may consider implementing e-Learning days in the school year.
An e-Learning day allows students to access assignments online to stay in a mode of study on days when a regular school day is closed due to inclement weather.
Superintendent Don Street said a recent survey showed that the opportunity may be favorable soon.
“We recently conducted a student internet survey and approximately 85 percent of our students have internet at home,” said Street. “In the future, we will be talking more about possibly conducting e-Learning days on the day of inclement weather or possible cancellation. That’s something that we’ll discuss later.”
In other topics of discussion, the school board learned that high school students will be earning a Governor’s Work Ethic certificate. Superintendent Street explained that the certificate shows that they have accomplished many tasks and are employable.
