The West Central School Board took the next necessary steps in order to move forward with a project to improve safety at all of the building entrances on the school’s campus.
Superintendent Don Street said some aspects of the schools would need to be redesigned to compensate for the upgrade in security.
“The guest would enter the office before entering the hallways,” explained Street. “This would require redesigning the entrances and the offices in the buildings. Some rooms and spaces would be redesigned for current educational needs during this time as well.”
Street added that the board members unanimously approved two resolutions to go along with this improvement project.
“We will continue with the West Central School Building Corporation that was previously formed for the financing of certain projects. And then a resolution that the West Central School Building Corporation has approved and submitted the school corporation proposed form of lease agreement. We’re moving forward with this project. I believe that this project will definitely enhance the security of our building and help us utilize our space for our educational needs,” said Street.
