Next year’s Yellowstone Trail Fest may include a beer garden. Festival President Larry Jernas discussed the idea with the Hamlet Town Council last week. He said a beer garden would not be allowed at the Starke County Fairgrounds, where most Yellowstone Trail Fest activities take place, so organizers are looking for another site nearby.
Council members agreed that the Hamlet Town Park was a possibility, but they wanted to check with the town’s insurance provider to see if there would be any additional cost. They also suggested that Jernas check with Davis Township, to see if the nearby baseball fields could be used.
Jernas said festival organizers are planning to work with a beer vendor out of Valparaiso. Town officials pointed out there are a couple brewers in Starke County who may also be interested.
