West Central Middle-High School Principal Pat Culp recently reminded the school board members that a presentation on body safety is set for next week.
Superintendent Don Street invites parents to attend Tuesday’s program.
“On Tuesday, Nov. 14, officer Sergeant Terry Hall will have a presentation for K-12 parents on body safety,” said Street. “He will present the information to all K-12 students the following day.”
The body safety program is designed to empower children without scaring them. The program aims at educating children and sending a message to predators that children are prepared for people like them.
Teachers and parents will be given an outline of what will be discussed during the student’s presentation so parents can determine whether or not their child will participate in the presentation. A refusal slip will be signed for those not participating.
The presentation on Tuesday, Nov. 14 will begin at 6:30 p.m. ET and will be held in the elementary school cafeteria.
