Pulaski County Council Approves $35,000 Additional Appropriation for IT Department

The Pulaski County Council this week approved a $35,000 additional appropriation, to make up for a shortfall in the county’s IT budget.

IT Director Matt Voltz said several unplanned expenses were apparently made before he took over the position in July. “A support contract might have got missed or something,” he said. “The new assessor’s server, it looks like it was purchased in 2016, but there’s a $20,000 charge from them again on the 2017 budget that kind of put me in the red on some of that stuff, and other purchases, as well, that were made throughout the year prior to me taking over.”

He said the appropriation will also help pay for calls to IT Consultant Willie DeGroot, during the four months that Pulaski County was without a full-time IT director.
