Some Knox teachers will be getting a little extra money from the State of Indiana. The Knox School Board approved the distribution of Teacher Appreciation Grant monies this week, according to Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart. “Before taxes are taken out, our highly-effective teachers will be receiving $597.23,” he says, “and our effective teachers will be receiving $477.79.”
He explains that money is coming from the Indiana Department of Education, with funds allocated by state lawmakers. “We really appreciate that money for our teachers, and any kind of money that we can get is a benefit to all of our teachers, not only here in Knox, but also statewide in the State of Indiana,” Reichhart says. “So we appreciate that money very much, and I know our teachers do, as well.”
In total, the Knox Community School Corporation got nearly $55,000, as part of this year’s Teacher Appreciation Grant program.
