Oregon-Davis Students Making Mural of Snoop Dogg Out of Toast

A group of Oregon-Davis students plans to turn 120 loaves of bread into a rather unusual art project. “We had 120 loaves of bread donated,” explains Superintendent Dr. Don Harman, “and if you go into the art room, there are 120 loaves of bread that is toasted at a different texture. And what they’re trying to do is make a big mural of Snoop Dogg. I mean, these kids will sit there and toast bread all day after school because that’s just their thing. They love that, and that’s cool. That’s great.”

Harman mentioned the project to a group of local residents during a school board work session last week. He was discussing some of the positive things taking place at the rural school corporation, as part of a larger conversation about school finances.

The Oregon-Davis School Board is exploring the possibility of a property tax referendum next year, to replace a tax increase that’s set to expire in 2019.
