The Oregon Township Board members discussed a cell phone allowance for Township Trustee Mark Allen.
Allen explained that the Indiana State Code (http://www.in.gov/sboa/WebReports/B46114.pdf page 5, second point) allows a reimbursement for cell phone use if approved by the township board. He said that he answers calls texts and emails from the township board members, fire department members and constituents about different concerns on his cell phone. He also has a land line phone as required. Allen asked if the board would be willing to reimburse him $25 a month for use of his cell phone for township business. He noted that $25 barely covers the cost of his bill, but it does help.
Board members Joe Reed, Paul Cleveland and Carole Noble unanimously approved the request.
