Oregon Township officials have purchased a new truck for the Koontz Lake Fire Department.
Township Trustee Mark Allen said they will sign paperwork for the new 2018 Spartan pumper truck during their regular board meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 19 at 6:30 p.m. CT at the Koontz Lake Fire Department on State Road 23.
Allen noted that teamwork made the purchase come together with no anticipation of a tax increase.
He added that a grand opening will be held so residents can see the truck with a fireman and learn more about the department. The fire department is looking to add some firefighters to the roster so anyone interested can sign up then as well.
