The Pulaski County Council’s leadership will stay the same for another year. Jay Sullivan was reelected council president for 2018, while Mike Tiede was reelected vice-president.
Also during Monday’s meeting, council members appointed representatives to various commissions. Tiede will serve as the council’s representative on the Pulaski County Advisory Plan Commission. He replaces Sullivan, who’s decided to step down from the plan commission, after several years.
Meanwhile, Sullivan agreed to represent the council on the Pulaski County Community Development Commission, replacing former council member Doug Roth. However, Roth is expected to remain on the CDC as an at-large member.
Council member Alex Haschel was reappointed to the Winamac Economic Development Commission for another three years. That group hasn’t met much recently, but it’s responsible for issuing economic development revenue bonds. In the future, it may also help review tax abatement requests.
