Investigation into Death of Barbara McCurdy Still Ongoing

Local officials continue to investigate the death of 37-year-old Knox resident Barbara McCurdy.

A missing person report was filed for McCurdy on January 20th. She was reportedly last seen in Knox on January 14th, driving a black 2006 Chevy Cobalt. She was found deceased in her vehicle at Braun Chevrolet in Winamac on Friday, February 2nd.

Since the discovery of her body, Pulaski County Coroner John Behny has been coordinating with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office on the death investigation. In a press release, the coroner stated he’s also working with the Winamac and Knox Police Departments and the Starke and Pulaski County Prosecutor’s Offices on this case.

Behny commented that the autopsy has been conducted and the investigation is on going. Information about the cause of death is pending autopsy and toxicology results. Updates will be provided as they become available.
