Knox Park Board members considered setting the dates for the Movies in the Park events that they’re planning to bring back this summer.
Park Board President Autumn Ferch explained that in order to start coordinating with the movie provider about what films would be available, she needed to have a set schedule of dates.
Ferch proposed holding the first movie on May 30th, the first Wednesday after Knox Schools let out. She explained that if they did it that way and then alternated every other week, they would be able to avoid any conflicts with holidays.
She said if they waited a week, there would be a conflict with the Fourth of July and they may have to skip some weeks and double up on others.
Park Board members unanimously approved Ferch’s recommended start date of May 30th and agreed to hold them every other week until school starts up again. The movies will be held on May 30th, June 13th, June 27th, July 11th and July 25th.
Community members and business owners are also reminded that they have the ability to help cover the cost of procuring the movies to show during these events. Anyone interested in sponsoring a Movie in the Park is asked to call the Mayor’s Office at 574-772-4553.
