College-bound students looking for financial assistance will need to fill out a FAFSA and unfortunately, many people find the process time consuming or confusing.
However, there’s no need to stress, as free financial aid assistance is just a few weeks away with College Goal Sunday.
At 2 p.m. ET on February 25th financial aid professionals will be volunteering at 40 sites across the state, assisting Hoosier students with filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This year’s nearest College Goal Sunday site is Plymouth High School.
Students who attend the event with their parent or guardian should bring completed IRS 1040 tax returns, W-2 Forms and other income and benefits information. Students and parents are also encouraged to apply for their U.S. Department of Education FSA Ids before coming to the event.
In order to be eligible for financial aid, the FAFSA must be filled out by April 15th. Families and students who attend this event can have their forms completed within one afternoon, well before the deadline.
College Goal Sunday is a charitable program of the Indiana Student Financial Aid Association. It has been around for nearly 3 decades and has been able to assist more than 93,000 Indiana Students and families complete the FAFSA correctly and on time.
