Pulaski County Emergency Medical Services continues to see success with an outside billing company, according to EMS Director Bryan Corn. “Last month, they deposited $31,509.50, and that’s still them kind of working on some of our older reports,” he told the county commissioners last week. They haven’t even kind of hit a lot of our new stuff yet.”
Corn explained that Ambulance Billing Services is working through 17 reports that are currently considered un-billable, but he expects that number to go down.
At the same time, Corn said the company wanted the commissioners to formalize the EMS department’s fees, as well as its billing and collection policies. “I dug up what I could find, sent it to them, sent it to the treasurer,” he explained. “They kind of came back with this, and they said it’s a little more detailed. They feel like it’s going to be a little better than what we had in place. They wanted you guys to take a look at it. If you guys are okay with it, they want it to be, essentially, approved by you guys.”
The commissioners unanimously approved the updated billing and collection policies, after they were reviewed by County Attorney Kevin Tankersley.
