Pulaski County EMS continues to deny ambulance transfer requests, due to a shortage of paramedics. EMS Director Bryan Corn reviewed his department’s January statistics with the county commissioners last week. “Essentially, for the month of January, we took nine transfers, but we also denied 10,” he said. “So we’re essentially turning down more than we’re taking at this point. If you kind of break down why we’re denying the transfers, it comes down to, basically, we don’t have the crew.”
Pulaski County EMS has decided not to take transfers when there’s only one paramedic on duty. County Commissioner Mike McClure previously called on Pulaski Memorial Hospital to provide nurses to help transfer patients.
