Knox Community School Corporation Treasurer to Retire Next Month

The Knox Community School Corporation’s treasurer is retiring after more than two decades with the school district. Sherry Fort is stepping down from her role as corporation treasurer and business manager on April 27. Her retirement was officially accepted by the school board Tuesday.

Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart joined board members in thanking Fort for her years of service. “Totally shocked me when she came in and said, ‘I’ve got to tell you something,’ and there were a few tears shed in our office when that day occurred,” Reichhart said. “So we wish her the best, though. I know it’s a difficult decision, but we know why you did it, as well.”

Fort will be honored with a reception after the April 17 school board meeting.
