Pulaski Commissioners Approve Equipment Purchases for Transfer Station, Highway Department

Pulaski County Commissioners: Mike McClure, Jerry Locke, Kenny Becker

A couple big-ticket equipment purchases were approved by the county commissioners Monday. The Pulaski County Transfer Station is getting a new truck with roll-off hoist.

The commissioners approved a bid for just over $158,000 from Pyramid Equipment of Rolling Prairie, at the recommendation of Transfer Station Manager Brad Bonnell. He explained that the bid was not the cheapest, but it was the only one to meet all the requirements. It’s for a 2018 Kenworth truck with a Galfab roll-off hoist. Since money for the truck isn’t in the transfer station’s budget, the county council then took action to advertise an additional appropriation for future consideration.

The commissioners also approved the purchase of a self-propelled road broom for the Pulaski County Highway Department for just under $50,000. Highway Superintendent Terry Ruff explained that it will replace an older broom of the same model, which will be traded in.
