Winamac High School’s valedictorian and salutatorian were recognized by the Eastern Pulaski School Board last week. Valedictorian Miranda Hettinger told board members she plans to go to St. Mary’s College, where she’ll major in computing and applied math and play softball. Salutatorian Lera Good said she plans to study English and creative writing at Valparaiso University.
The top graduates were introduced to the school board by Principal Rick DeFries. “They’re outstanding students, but they’re also outstanding people,” he said. “And I enjoyed having both of them in school for the four years that they were here and know that they’re going to be very successful wherever they go on to college and move on into the workforce, as well.”
Superintendent Dan Foster also commended them on their hard work over the years. “Congratulations. Parents as well. It takes a lot, a team effort,” Foster said.
Winamac High School’s graduation is tonight at 7:00.
