The Knox School Board is scheduled to consider a number of personnel items tonight. Rhonda Cavinder is being recommended to serve as the first director and lead teacher of the Redskin Academy. It’s a new in-house alternative high school set to launch this fall.
The school board will also consider administrative assignments for the 2018-2019 school year. Rebecca Despot is stepping down from her role as elementary school assistant principal to serve as a classroom teacher for next school year, according to the advance meeting agenda. A list of teachers and bus drivers for upcoming summer school programs will also be up for board approval.
The Knox School Board will also discuss NEOLA policies, along with a state- and federally-mandated education plan for homeless students. Tonight’s Knox School Board meeting starts at 6:30 at the Knox Schools Administrative Office.
