Community Shows Support for KHS Life Skills Class at Annual Color Run

More than 80 people gathered at Knox High School for the 2nd Annual Life Skills Class Color Run, last Saturday.

Event coordinator and Life Skills teacher Tiffany Hoar, or Mrs. H as her students call her, reported that about $1500 was raised for the class during the event!

The Life Skills program at KHS provides students with cognitive disabilities the opportunity to learn important lessons that will prepare them for independent living. The class goes on outings, prepares meals and goes over things like job readiness and social expectations.

While the $1500 will go a long way to assist the class with needed resources, Mrs. H said the first thing they will be using the donations for is ingredients for a picnic lunch the class will be taking along on a field trip later this month.
