The Starke County Council members will discuss several additional appropriation requests when they meet tonight.
North Judson-San Pierre Business Manager and Treasurer Guy Richie will present the county council with bond issue paperwork and an additional appropriation request. The school is seeking a bond to assist with a $1.1 million general obligation bond for technology and security upgrades.
Highway Superintendent Rik Ritzler will discuss an additional appropriation request as well as possible financial strategies to obtain state funding. The commissioners will also ask for an additional appropriation for several capital projects this year.
In addition, Starke County Economic Development Foundation Executive Director Larry Wickert will have a monthly update.
The Starke County Council members will meet at 5:30 p.m. tonight followed by the Starke County Commissioners meeting. The commissioners will have the same report as presented to the council from Larry Wickert and they will review the capital asset annual report and sign a covered bridge certification.
Both meetings will be held in the meeting room in the Starke County Annex Building No. 1 at 53 E. Mound Street in Knox.
