The West Central School Board members were updated on construction projects at the school corporation.
Superintendent Don Street said the roofing projects on the auxiliary gym and north lobby are complete while the secure entrance and utilization of space projects are ongoing.
“Our elementary office is really taking shape and looking good,” said Street. “It’s on a good timeline for our staff to move in in the summer. The future weight room is really moving along. As soon as school is out, they’ll start on the rest of the project as well. This summer they’ll work on the exterior lighting. Things are really taking shape.”
The school board approved plans last year to make a more secure entrance at the school to increase school safety.
A few other projects planned for this summer include the replacement of the heating and cooling units for the high school cafeteria and high school band room area as well as the renovation of the north lobby restrooms.
